Karen Fried, Psy.D., and Melissa Mullin, Ph.D., are the owners and Directors of the K&M Center. As creators of the K&M Center, Karen and Melissa set themselves a mission to help every student learn to his or her potential. Melissa and Karen work with parents, teachers, tutors and other professionals to individualize a truly effective program for each child. The joy of helping children do well in school, and in life, motivates Melissa and Karen to provide the best learning center possible. After over 18 years of experience helping thousands of children learn to read, write and achieve in school, Karen and Melissa are now using their knowledge to create products that can guide teachers and parents who wish to help children learn. KAREN FRIED holds a doctorate in psychology from Ryokan College. She received master's degrees both in Human Development and in Clinical Psychology, as well as a Certificate in Educational Therapy, from the College for Developmental Studies. A licensed MFT, she has practiced educational therapy and psychotherapy for over 15 years. MELISSA MULLIN fell in love with teaching while designing educational computer games for The Walt Disney Educational Media Company. She pursued her interest with enthusiasm, earning her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, with a specialization in Learning and Instruction from UCLA.
