For this new edition the book has been completely rewritten, bringing the subject up to date for the 1990s. Chapters 1-6 deal with the nature of play and recreation, our needs in respect of leisure and the factors which influence our participation. Chapters 7-12 consider the leisure 'product' and the planning and provision of leisure by the three main categories of provider. Chapters 13-20 deal with management issues.
