This book is a comprehensive examination of extensive reading. In this approach to the teaching and learning of second language reading, learners read large quantities of books and other materials that are well within their linguistic competence. In this text the case is made that extensive reading is an important addition to any second language reading program. Extensive reading not only provides essential practice in learning to read but also develops a positive attitude toward reading so often missed in second language reading classrooms.
