Starting Out With C++: Early Objects is intended for either a one semester traditional introductory programming course or a two-semester C++ programming sequence, with introductory material placed in the first half of the text and more advanced topics, such as recursion and data structures, placed in the second half. Objects are introduced early, right after control structures and before arrays and pointers. The STL string class is used throughout. As with all Gaddis books, there is a strong emphasis on problem solving and program design, a careful step-by-step introduction of each new topic, clear and easy to read code listings, concise and practical real world examples, and an abundance of exercises in each chapter. 本書特色 1.Has a clear and student-friendly writing style with stepped-out explanations that motivate beginning students 2.Includes over 350 concise, practical and runnable real-world examples students can relate to and understand 3.Has a wealth of exercises in each chapter so students have the chance to put concepts to work as they are learned 4.Introduces objects and classes early, right after control structures and before arrays and pointers 5.Covers more advanced OOP topics, recursion, linked lists, stacks, queues, and binary trees in later chapters 6.Follows an ANSI standard and uses the most currently accepted programming practices 7.Includes new appendices on UML and on .NET and Managed C++ 8.Can be ordered alone or with a lab manual that gives students pre-developed code to complete, edit, and experiment with 9.Is supported by Addison-Wesley’s exclusive MyCodeMate tool 嘉評如潮-來自讀者的強力推薦 I want to tell you I believe your C++ text is the most thorough one available. I have used 5 different ones since 1992 and every one assumes the students know things that they do not .You cover every detail.Thank you.--David McLeod , Belmont Technical College , OH The students have found your book to be easy to read and understand-a great accomplishment.--Al Cawns , Webster University , MO I listen to what students say about the books I select . Their response to Gaddis is unusually positive . They really like the book .--Jeffrey A. Kent , Los Angeles Valley College , CA Greetings , I’m using your book in an introductory course in C++ at University of Texas at Dallas.Your book is GREAT ! It abstracts the complexity of C++ down to the core concepts that we can build on . Thank !--Jim Burke , student ...just wanted to tell you that your book has made a lot of difference in my life . Your book is absolutely ”Awesome . ” You have a lot of examples in the book which help a lot . Thanks again !--Saud Faisal , student
