Analyzing Complex Survey Data examines ways of analyzing complex surveys and focuses on the problems of weights and design effects. It also includes a discussion of the choices involved in variance estimation and covers the different computer programs that are available. The book concludes with a plea for more design-based, as compared to model-based, statistical inference. This book is appropriate for all social scientists with some familiarity of sample designs, including simple random sampling, without replacement, stratified random sampling, and two-stage cluster sampling.
